Nurse Practitioners

Our nurse practitioners will telephone triage any requests for on the day appointments and will ensure patients are signposted to the appropriate service provider. They may decide to see you themselves. As clinicians they can act autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment including prescribing. This includes the authority to refer to hospital if necessary.

Nurses

Our nurses run clinics by appointment. They are involved in the follow up of patients with long term problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma and diabetes. In addition they perform cervical screening and new patient medicals. Our practice nurses can be contacted on 01259 216701.

Healthcare Assistants

Our healthcare assistants run clinics which include taking bloods, blood pressure recording, height & weight recording and smoking cessation.

Community Midwives

Our community midwifery team cares for all expectant women and new babies. They run weekly antenatal clinics and can be contacted on 01324 567146 Monday-Friday between 8.30am & 12.00pm. At all other times you can leave a message.

Community Nurses

Our District Nursing team, provide individual nursing care for housebound patients. They can be contacted on 01259 290176 between 8.30am and 4.30pm. At all other times a nurse will be available via referral from NHS24.

Health Visitors

Our health visitors have a special interest and can offer help and advice in health promotion and the prevention of ill health in all age groups. They are involved with child health surveillance and provides support and information to mothers and young children. They can give advice on many subjects such as breast feeding, postnatal depression, incontinence, smoking cessation and caring for the elderly. Our Health visitors can be contacted on 01259 290186.
